Chef Lindsay, a Laguna Beach native and the youngest of three sisters, grew up with strong influences in wellness and community from her family. Her mother is a local Ayurvedic doctor, her father spent 20 years as a Laguna Beach landscape gardener before moving to Santa Fe, NM, where he works as an American antiquities dealer, and her stepfather lives in Eugene, Oregon. A 1998 graduate of LBHS and a single mother of two boys—16-year-old Diego, whom she was five months pregnant with when opening her restaurant in 2008 with her ex-husband, and 8-year-old Mateo—Chef Lindsay has dedicated 16 years to serving her home town in, evolving her business in create ways through good times and hard times like covid, but always with a sense of responsibility towards being a pillar of community-centered sustainability.

With the current rebranding of Nirvana Grille after 16 years to Nirvana by Chef Lindsay, she’s expanding her offerings to include a Kitchen + Pantry, Custom Woodwork, Product Line, Off Site Catering, and Private Events. Her focus on clean, unprocessed food emphasizes seasonal, sustainable, grass-fed, non-GMO, organic, and free-range ingredients sourced from local vendors. Committed to community health and wellness, her expanded market offerings will offer grab-and-go options, prepared meals, and lunch service, in addition to dinner service, paired with an innovative approach to what you would expect from a restaurant. Balancing her roles as mother and entrepreneur, Chef Lindsay’s resilience continues to nurture us through her care and concern of hospitality, paired with the Laguna community residents well-being at heart.
